Organization at a glance

Dar Khule Dao Protibondhi Nari Parishad is an Organisations of Persons with Disabilities (OPD) working in Dhaka district of Bangladesh. The organization was established in January 2004. Being started involving 40 persons with disabilities with support from its own initiatives, now the organization has a total of 182 members; among them, 182 are female.

The organization implements its activities ensuring equal participation of men and women with disabilities. According the bylaws of the organization there are 35 members in its General Committee and 7 members are in the Executive Committee. The organizational activities are implemented by the staff and volunteers following the directives of the General Secretary/ Executive Director. Through the direct involvement of men and women with disabilities, the organization is working to promote the rights of persons with disabilities and improve their lives with support from government and non-government organizations.

Besides, the organization is striving for partnership with the mainstreaming organizations for Disability Inclusion in their programs through ensuring active and meaningful participation of persons with disabilities as well as providing capacity building and technical assistance.
